"Your Possible Pasts" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1983 album, The Final Cut.[1][2] It has never been performed live, but lyrics from the chorus are featured in The Wall film, along with lyrics from "5:11 AM (The Moment of Clarity)" from The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking. The lyrics are read by the character, Pink, in the bathroom stall scene between "Waiting for the Worms" and "Stop".
The chorus of the song dates back to Roger Waters' song "Incarceration of a Flower Child" which dates back to 1968 and which was covered by British singer Marianne Faithfull in 1999.
The track received significant airplay on US FM rock radio when released and reached #8 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the spring of 1983.
The song was also covered by the British rock band Anathema as a bonus track for their album Alternative 4.
